Principal Audrey Sofianos
Principal Audrey Sofianos is very honored to be serving the students and families of Sutton Middle School. Each day she strives to make choices that will positively impact her sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. She is an advocate for all children and truly enjoys her career focus of working with students, teachers, and families. She is starting her twenty-second year in education, and has been a teacher, a technology coach, an assistant principal, and a principal. For the past eight years she has been a principal in two different schools, arriving at Sutton Middle School in early September, 2007. She loves her job as principal and looks forward to each and every day!
Ms. Sofianos believes in the students and realizes the impact a strong middle school education can have on their future choices and opportunities. She knows the real business of education happens in each classroom, and does “whatever it takes” to support and ensure positive, productive, and academically focused classrooms. She also is an advocate for teachers and the teaching profession, and Sutton Middle School is full of top quality teachers and staff. Ms. Sofianos believes in honoring the teachers and all of their extra efforts, as they are one of the strongest factors in student success!
In her spare time (when she is not cheering on the Sutton Cougars at an event) Ms. Sofianos enjoys spending time with her husband “AJ”, and her two step-children Meagan and Dylan. She loves to travel, and has visited 26 countries on six continents. You might see her at a local knitting shop or bookstore, as she loves to knit, read, and write. She also enjoys listening to music and calls herself a technology geek. It is true that she does spreadsheets and charts for fun!
